FMChecker will tell you details about your FileMaker Pro files you never knew before. Even things you could find by digging deep into some dialogs are now presented in a clearly arranged overview - and in no time at all.

Do you know what all the FileMaker Pro files on your hard disk are all about? Would you open or even convert them just to find out - and by that changing the Last Modified Date?

Simply drag your files onto the application and within seconds you will learn:

Do all referenced files really exist in the current environment?

For what systems have Print Setups been defined?

What are the Import/Export/Sort Orders, and Find Requests?

What is the Content of a Global Field (text, number, and date)?

How many times has this file been not properly closed?

What elements a Formula uses and click on any element for further details.

New: Script Steps with links to variables, scripts, etc. and vice versa

Navigate between all elements by clicking as you are used to in a browser.

How many times has this file been Recovered?

When was a file Originally Created and on what System and FileMaker version?

On what System and FileMaker version has a file been used and when last?

Is this file currently In Use and how many Guests are Logged On?

Does it open in Kiosk Mode and have edit capabilities been removed?

What Fonts have been used?

What are the exact Sizes of Data Records, Fields, Layouts, and Scripts?

You may apply a Filter to listings of fields, layouts, scripts, and others

The number of Files read simultaneously is only limited by available memory

And many more details you would have to dig for a long way into FileMaker dialogs, without “touching” (opening and modifying) the file, and in less time…

You may check your files wherever they are - no copying or moving around necessary. It does not matter whether they are currently closed or open by FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Server (Server on Windows 2000 is currently an open issue). As long as you can see them in Windows Explorer or Finder you can check them, even on a network volume.

No need for additional software. No need for FileMaker Developer, plug-in, or database report. FMChecker™ is a C++ stand-alone application and runs on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Windows 98, 2000, NT, and XP.

Security Administrator gives you complete central management of FileMaker passwords and privileges.

Manage Your Accounts, Privilege Sets, and Passwords
Security Administrator manages accounts, privilege sets, and passwords for your FileMaker Pro solutions by leveraging the built-in FileMaker features for scripted account management. It helps you plan and implement your security strategy with a well-conceived “matrix” interface.

Security Administrator is extremely powerful in the following scenarios:

Multi-File Solutions
With Security Administrator you no longer have to create or manage the same accounts in all the different files of the solution

Commercial Solutions
In your commercial solutions, use Security Administrator to give your end users the power to manage their own accounts and passwords.

Offline Development
Working with offline copies of a solution becomes much easier with Security Administrator. Replace the live files and use Security Administrator to quickly implement the correct accounts and passwords.

Simple, yet powerful.
With Security Administrator, you can work with files individually, in module subsets, and by entire solution sets. Grouping files into modules significantly cuts down on configuration labor and increases the accuracy of implementing and administering accounts.

In the Setup Phase, you organize files, accounts, and privilege sets. Then, in the Administer Phase, you just select the files and accounts and tell Security Administrator what you want to do:

Add Accounts

Delete Accounts

Enable Accounts

Disable Accounts

Reset Passwords

Change Passwords

Works with FileMaker Pro 8, 8.5 or 9

Fields are compared by either Field ID or Field Name, with the resulting differences displayed in a re-sizable, sortable list.

FmPro Layout Diff quickly shows FileMaker 8.5 layout object names for an entire layout, without requiring each and every object to be individually clicked in layout mode within FileMaker.

Large layouts are instantly resized and printed on a single printed page for documentation and development purposes.

FileMaker Pro Advanced and FileMaker Developer do not directly show whether Debug Scripts is On or Off. The only way to to find out, is to click on the Scripts or Tools menu and see whether the Debug Scripts menu item has its check-mark set.

This turns out to be very inconvenient, since after modifying a script, you never know for sure what’s happening when you perform it from within the “Define Scripts for…” dialog.

FMMenulet provides a solution to the problem by constantly reflecting the current state of the Debug Scripts check mark with an icon in the system menu-bar. Moreover, clicking on this icon toggles the state of that check mark and thus switches Debug Scripts on and off.

FMMenulet works with FileMaker Pro Developer 6, 7, and FileMaker Pro Advanced 8, and 8.5.

What is FMDiff ?

It’s a “First of its Kind” application to

compare FileMaker Pro files against backups or clones

unveil up to now unknown details about your files

check for obvious and hidden file corruption

run super-fast!

FMDiff Compares FileMaker Pro Files And Lists Differences

If your solution suddenly exhibits strange behavior, how do you find out what happened to the files? How much time would you have to invest?

With FMDiff the basic test is done within minutes. Simply compare your backup or “Good Clone” against the solution. You immediately can tell whether anything has changed and where, either due to human or hardware error.

FMDiff compares your current solution against a previous one (or a Clone) and reports the differences. For the first time it is now possible to verify that the internal file structure (tables, fields, relations, etc.) is the same as at the time of delivery. This is especially important for sensitive areas like accounting or healthcare.

FMDiff Unveils Secret Information About FileMaker Pro Files

Was this file ever Recovered? How many times? This is very important to know when you have to judge about the quality and sanity of a solution.

When was the file originally created? Every file has an internally stored time stamp that does not change when a file is Cloned or Recovered. This time stamp can serve to identify “an original” and is a means to prove ownership.

With what versions of FileMaker Pro or Server has a file ever been opened? On what platforms and system version was it run? How many times has it been opened with what version? This can help to track down version related errors.

FMDiff Tests For Damages

FMDiff knows whether your FileMaker Pro files are still intact. While comparing it checks the file’s structure to be “well-formed”. The licensed version of FMDiff even performs additional tests for ascending IDs and correct block lengths. This is something that even the native FileMaker Recover command does not always straighten out, which may lead to subsequent malfunctions or crashes.

The combination of keeping a good copy (one that never crashed) and using FMDiff to compare it against the installed solution can be considered currently the best possible security measure.

How Does FMDiff Work?

FMDiff is a stand-alone application (Windows and Mac) that does not depend on other applications, plug-ins, or a Database Design Report (DDR). It reads the original files, that’s why it is so fast. Open FMDiff and drag the files to compare onto its window and click Compare. Seconds later your browser shows the difference report and all file information. Files with several hundred megabytes take a few minutes.
